- Work with the leadership team to clarify the organization’s vision, goals and objectives
- Conduct and present an analysis of the external and internal environment, including:
- National and local trends
- Market demographics
- Market competitors
- Market demand and projections for growth of new services
- Gap analysis of market needs versus current services
- Potential positioning and integration of new service lines within existing offerings
- Analyze the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT)
- Define the critical strategies – operational, physician, employee, financial and marketing strategies – needed to meet objectives
- Establish the critical factors for the organization that must be completed successfully to make the strategic plan a reality
- Define monitoring and business evaluation indicators (key financial indicators, patient satisfaction, etc.)
- Create a specific action plan with timelines and accountabilities to make implementation a reality
